The article discusses issues related to the development of the banking sector of the Russian Federation in the context of digitalization. The main drivers of the development of the banking sector using digital technologies and the degree of their influence on the formation of digital infrastructure are analyzed. The factors influencing the digital transformation of the banking sector are considered. The analysis of the data obtained during the study of the digital maturity of retail banks at the time of 2023 is carried out. The main directions of development of financial institutions on the way to self-improvement in the field of introduction and use of digital technologies in the provision of various types of financial services are formulated. The trends related to the formation of business ecosystems in the banking sector are analyzed. The main risks that a financial institution may face when forming digital business ecosystems that allow working with clients within a single digital window are formulated.
