The article discusses issues related to the development of digitalization at both the state and business levels. The analysis of the impact of the degree of digitalization on the creation of business ecosystems and their development is carried out. The characteristics of open and closed business ecosystems are given. The models of business ecosystems and the features of their formation are described. The issues of the structure of business ecosystems are considered. The components of the internal structure of business ecosystems are determined with the possibility of their integration into the external environment. The main challenges in which business ecosystems are currently functioning and possible prospects for their development and formation are determined. The forecast of the development of business ecosystems in the current economic and political situation in the world is given.
