Abstract (English):
In the article the role of selecting cadets for a combat weapon sport development group is determined as well as the role of this group itself in the system of an educational institution of the Ministry of Interior of Russia. The author defines the notion of sport selection and its stages. The first stage of sport selection ¾ selection for a sport development group ¾ is considered, and the applicability of this issue is revealed. General and special criteria of the selection are considered.
