The research objective was studying productive qualities of Simmental cattle bred in the conditions of the Republic of Khakassia. The characteristic of Sim-mental animals on the main breeding and productive qualities generally for all categories of farms and breed-ing farms from 2010 for 2016 is given. In 2016 average milk yield of probonitized cows made 4 542 kg of milk with fat content of 4.01 %, protein content - 3.12 %, on breeding farms respectively - 4652 kg with fat content of 4.03 %; protein - 3.14 %. For analyzed period dairy efficiency of cows increased on 772 kg (16.1 %), includ-ing o breeding farms - 924 kg (19.1 %), the live mass of cows increased respectively by 24 and 23 kg and aver-aged on herd 530 kg, on breeding farms - 535 kg. Av-erage age of probonitized cows was 3.13 lactations, the duration of service period was 107 days, dry period was 60 days, average age of cows leaving was 3.7, calving (8.0 % of cows were taken away because of low effi-ciency, 12.3 % -gynecologic diseases, 22.1 % - udder diseases and 3.1 % - limb diseases). The analysis of dairy efficiency, live weight and breeding qualities of cattle of Simmental breed allows estimating the level of breeding work and defining the main ways of its im-provement in the Republic of Khakassia. For the im-provement of breeding and productive qualities of Sim-mental cattle in Khakassia the method of thoroughbred breeding with use of bulls of import selection in the di-rection of fixing in posterity of expressed combined effi-ciency type is recommended.
