The authors have developed an algorithm which allows to substantiate the complex requirements to the structure of the wear-resistant surface layers for wood-metal friction pairs. They proposed chemical and structural-phase composition of hardfacing material on the basis of this algorithm.

В настоящее время наблюдается расширение использования для изготовления ряда деталей различных  неметаллических материалов, в том числе древесины или композитов на ее основе. Например, древесно-металлические пары трения характерны для различных узлов деревоперерабатывающего оборудования,  в частности, рабочих органов стружечных станков, направляющих ленточных и рамных пил, древесных подшипников скольжения и т. д.
